Qufu Normal University was established in 1955 on the site of “Shandong Normal College” in Jinan.
In 1956, it was renamed as “Qufu Normal College”, then relocated to Qufu, Shandong, and launched its four-year undergraduate programme.
Merged with Shandong University of liberal arts to form the new “Shandong University”.
Resumed the original organizational structure of Qufu Normal College.
In 1981, Shandong provincial government identified the college as provincial key institutions of higher education, and opened several graduate courses.
In November 1985, Qufu Normal College changed its name to Qufu Normal University.
Qufu Normal University Rizhao College was completed and enabled.
Obtained doctorate authorization under the commission of the Ministry of Education.
