On the morning of July 5, a delegation from RWS Group, a leading global provider of translation and localization, intellectual property support and life sciences language service solutions, paid a visit to QFNU. Vice Secretary of the Party Committee Hu Qingxue met Neil Simpkin, director of RWS Group and general manager of IP business department.

Hu briefed the delegation on the educational history,discipline layout and development strategy of QFNU. Hu said General Secretary Xi Jinping had repeatedly stressed the need to further expand the opening up. The cooperation between the two sides responded to this national policy and contributed to improving the quality of talents training and internationalization. Qufu Normal University, adhering to the excellent tradition of "never tire of learning and never tire of teaching", had provided a large number of outstanding talents to society. Besides, QFNU was located in Qufu and Rizhao with profound cultural background and superior geographical conditions. RWS Group was a world-leading multinational company in patent translation, intellectual property translation and retrieval. Hu hoped that both sides could complement each other and further deepen cooperation.

Neil Simpkin expressed his thanks to our school’s warm reception, introduced the entrepreneurship history and basic situation of RWS Group as well as the history of cooperation between the two sides. He thought that both sides had similar history origins with broad space for cooperation. Qufu Normal University had a high quality of talents training while RWS Group’s business in Asia developed rapidly. The previous successful cooperation had suggested that this kind of cooperation was mutually beneficial.

Neil Simpkin and his delegation then came to the School of Translation Studies and the two sides held an in-depth discussion on the next step of cooperation. Mr. Lu Weizhong, dean of the School of Translation Studies, briefed the delegation on discipline layout, talents training, teaching and scientific research and experiment equipment of School of Translation Studies, expressed high recognition of the good cooperative relations between the two sides in recent years and looked forward to the next step to expand the form of cooperation. Mr.Xu Jiashao, director of MTI Education Center, reviewed a series of achievements in the joint postgraduate training base since October, 2010 when the two sides cooperated and hoped that the two sides would build a joint training base with social demonstration effect throughout the country. At the symposium, the two sides also exchanged in-depth views on the long-term mechanism of top talents joint training, the horizontal research topics of teachers , and the joint organization of top seminars.
