The Music College of QuFu Normal University (original art department and music department) was born in QuFu, the birthplace of Chinese civilization and the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, which was founded in 1976, and moved east to RiZhao in August 2002.Currently, The major distribution of the college are consists of three parts for Musicology, Music Performance and Dance, including six teaching and research institutions of Music Theory Department, Vocal Music Department, Keyboard Department, Instrumental Music Department, Dance Department and Music Institute. The college has the conferral right for Master of Music and Dance as well as Master of Subject teaching and Professional technology education. There are 831 full-time students, including 122 postgraduates and 709 undergraduates.

Since its establishment, the college emphasizes the teaching and scientific research equally, combines theory with practice. It builds strict administration、 excellent teaching quality and outstanding social benefits, moreover it makes a significant contribution in science and education Xing Lu. The college has 59 staff members, including 55 full-time teachers, 4 of them are Professor, 23 of them are Associate Professor. It also employs some famous specialists domestic and foreign, dozens of them are foreign experts, more than 20 of them have been employed as guest and adjunct professors.
 The total construction area of college is 11000 square meters. There are 152 rooms in 5 floors of the piano room, 5 floors of comprehensive teaching buildings, 2 multi-media classrooms, 17 standard classrooms, 6 large classrooms and 1 large multi-function hall; It equipped with dressing room, 2 modern large-scale dance training room. Otherwise, it has electric piano classroom, MD-computer music classrooms, audio and video room, audio-visual room, reference room, professor office, faculty lounge and playroom, meeting room, all kinds of integrated office, etc. It also equipped with a modern hall accommodating 400 people. The library of college also has a plenty of professional books, magazines and more than 10,000 VCD, CD even data. These teaching facilities and equipment provide excellent environment and conditions for teaching and research.

In recent years, we pay more attention to stage practice of teachers and students, encourage the teachers and students to participate in all kinds of games. In July 2014, the dance Drum Girl created and performance by our college got silver award in the Fifth China Dance Festival and the Ninth Chinese Dance "Lotus Award" " Finals. As the only ordinary university entered into final competition in Shandong Province, we made a historic appearance on the national highest podium. The college is guided with basic music education, guiding ideology of music education service and put emphasis on the improvement of educational quality and curriculum construction. It has trained a large number of excellent music teachers and professionals. The rate of entrance postgraduate examination increases in recent year. Reform of teaching and management are proposed, meanwhile, new measures are put forward continuously. It carries out two-way choice for students and teachers in vocal music and keyboard teaching and research section, the way of mixing big and small classes, piano grading examination, two additional qualifications, double additional qualifications, which turned out to be effective and lead to teaching quality has been continuously improved. In 2017, it established the Yayue research center and orchestra. The dance of imitating Northern Song Dynasty performances by our orchestra is showed in the program of celebrating the 19th National Congress "Also See Today" of CCTV, meanwhile, it is chose to be propaganda and play in New York's Times Square.

The fields of music have great academic activity、wide professional coverage and get outstanding achievements in teaching and research. In recent years, the college has undertaken 6 key project items for National Social Sciences Fund and the National Endowment for the Arts. More than 500 papers and 30 monograph written by staff published in the domestic professional journals. Teachers get more than 30 provincial level award. Recent five years, our students and teachers have acquired 200 awards in Taishan Literary Award,  Students' Science and Technology Culture and Art Festival、Professional Basic Skills Competition of Teacher and Student、College Student Art Exhibition in Shandong Province.

Students’ Art Troupes of college has undertaken important performance tasks and cultural exchange activities both inside and outside the university, and has been performing in Korea for 5 years. The college has established friendly relations with music colleges in the United States, Germany, Australia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Japan, Korea and other countries and regions.
