Journal of Qufu Normal University (Natural Science) is a comprehensive natural science academic journal sponsored by Qufu Normal University which is located in Qufu city of eastern China’s Shandong province, the hometown of Confucius, China’s great educator.

The first issue of Journal of Qufu Normal University (Natural Science) was published in 1964 for readers at home and abroad. To date, 44 volumes and 169 issues have been published since it resumed publication in 1975. As one of the journals with a long history among Shandong academic community, it is committed to sharing the discoveries of latest academic research in natural sciences, promoting academic exchanges at home and abroad, creating excellent academic atmosphere, boosting developments in science and technology, thus improving teaching and research and contributing to the socialist spiritual civilization in China.

In November 1995, the Journal was received the third prize of the National Excellent University Journal Competition organized by the Science and Technology Department of the former State Education Commission. In July 1999, the Journal won the third prize of the National Excellent University Journal of Natural Science Competition organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education. In August 2004, the Journal won the second prize of the National University Science and Technology Journal competition organized by the Science and Technology department of the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Since 1989 when the statistics and analysis of domestic and international papers were released by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, the Journal has been acknowledged and indexed by well-known indexing periodicals across the world every year, among which are Mathematical Reviews (MR) in U.S.A., Zentralblatt MATH (ZM) in Germany, Current Mathematical Publications (CMP) in U.S.A., Chemical Abstracts (CA) in U.S.A., Abstract Journal (AJ) in Russia, Zoological Record (ZR) in U.N., and other famous foreign retrieval journals. It is also indexed in Chinese Mathematical Abstract, Chinese Mathematical Literature Database, Chinese Physics Abstracts, Chinese Physics Literature Database, Inorganic Analytical Abstracts of China, Chinese Biological Abstracts, Chinese Academic Journal (CD) and other large domestic retrieval systems. Since January 1999, this journal has joined the Wanfang Data System Technical Journal Group Database (China Info) designed by Wanfang Data Network Center of China Science and Technology Information Institute. In October 1999, the Journal has joined China Journal Net of National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). In June 2002, the Journal was indexed in the Chinese Electronic Periodical Services (CEPS) in Chinese Taiwan as well as China Science and Technology Journal Database (CSJD) sponsored by the Southwest Information Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and being listed as the Chinese Science and Technology Papers Citation Database (CSTPCD) by the Ministry of International Science and Technology.
