Established in March 1991, Retired Staff Department is the functional department in charge of the retirement affairs at Qufu Normal University. There are nine official staffs and five branches including Integrated Management Office, Party Affairs Office, Honorable Retiree Office, Retired Staff Office and Rizhao Integrated Management Office. Founded in 2016, CPC Committee of Retired Staff, with one Honorable Retiree Party branch and nine Retired Staff Party branches, is responsible for the ideological and political work and other Party work of retirees’. Caring Younger Generation Committee, Geriatric Sports Association, Senior Educators Association, the Art Troupe and the Elderly University affiliate to Retired Staff Department.

The Senior Centre of Retired Staff Department, a provincial exemplary center, is set to meet the requirements of the retirees for entertainment, fitness and other kinds of activities. It covers 1500 square meters and contains various activity places on Qufu and Rizhao campus, including CPC Activity Renter, Chorus Hall, Reading Room, Periodical Room, Beijing Opera Room, Chess and Card Room, Chinese Chess Room, Dance Studio, Table Tennis Room, outdoor bocce court , gateball court and so on.

By the end of December 2017, there had been 929 retirees at Qufu Normal University, including 38 honorable retirees, 891 retirees and 497 Party members.
