The Social Sciences Department of Qufu Normal University is responsible for the administration of the university staff's research in humanities and social sciences. Under the general leadership of the University's Communist Party Committee, the Office ensures the implementation of the Party's and the State's guidelines, policies and regulations with regard to enhancing the productive research in philosophy and social sciences. Its working tenets of "Professionalism and Efficiency, Transparency and Publicity, Cleanness and Self-Discipline, Quick Response to Questions” are firmly and continuously executed by the office staff. Its administration mainly covers planning, organizing and managing of the research programs in general, with the aim to fulfill the important roles of humanities and social sciences research in world exploration, cultural inheritance, theoretical innovation, students’ education, governmental support and social service.
The Office has three divisions :Planning office, Achievements office and Information office with 5 administration staff, including 1 Director, 1 Deputy Director and 3 Section Chiefs. The Planning Office is responsible for: organizing teachers to apply for all types and levels of social sciences research programs; implementing mid-term examination, assessment and finalization of the granted programs; and managing the research funds in collaboration with the Office of Finance. The Achievements Office is responsible for: the application and evaluation of all types of awards for the achievements in the various research programs concerning social science; the dispensing of bonuses; the construction of Social Science Platform and its maintenance; coordination of the works from the Federation of Social Science and some daily routines of the Social Sciences Department. The Information Office is responsible for: statistics and documents filing; construction of database and maintenance; updating of the information on the web portal; the use and management of the fixed assets as well.
