On the afternoon of August 18, Qufu Normal University and Korean National Anton University held the ninth Council of Confucius Institute in the form of remote video conference. Qu Yuekuan, Vice President of QFNU, Quan Chuntai, President of National Anton University, Jin binggui, dean of Confucius Institute, and other members of the council attended the meeting.

Qu Yuekuan extended greetings to the council members of Anton University on behalf of Qufu Normal University. The NCP (novel coronavirus pneumonia) seriously affected international education and exchanges, but with the joint efforts of both sides, Confucius Institute of National Anton university has launched a series of rich and colorful Confucian cultural exchange activities. As the Chinese school running body of Anton Confucius Institute, Qufu Normal University will go hand in hand with Anton university to jointly promote the sustainable, high-quality and connotative development of Anton Confucius Institute, actively broaden the exchange platform, help the steady and healthy development of the Confucius Institute in an all-round way, and contribute to the promotion of common feelings and mutual learning of civilization between China and South Korea.

Quan Chun Tai said that influenced by the epidemic, the exchange of personnel between the two schools had been hindered to a certain extent, but the work of Confucius Institute was still in an orderly manner. It was hoped that the two sides would continue to work together to strengthen cooperation, create better conditions for the development of the Confucius Institute of Anton University, build a broader platform for cooperation between the two universities, and promote more extensive communication and exchanges between young students of the two universities.

At the meeting, Jin binggui made a report on the work summary of Anton Confucius Institute in 2020 and the work plan for 2021. The council members had in-depth discussions and reached a consensus on the situation and problems that the Confucius Institute faced.
