Strengthening moral education and cultivating people encourage cultivation, as well as being tireless in teaching educates person of outstanding ability. When the 34th Teachers’ Day came, on the morning of September 10, University president Zhang Honghai, Deputy Party Secretary Ma Shanjun, Vice President Wang Jisuo, Xia Yunjie and Fengchong, separately went to the two campuses to visit the representatives of front-line teachers and retired teachers, to send them  the blessings and condolences of the festival, and to extend the greetings and best wishes to all faculty and the staff.

Moreover, on the morning of September 7, the eve of Teachers’ Day, the Deputy Party Secretary Ma also visited the teachers’ representatives who won the National Labor Medal, Honor of Provincial Advanced Worker, as well as the retired teachers’ representatives.

During the visit, school leaders kindly asked teachers about their work, study and life, expressed gratitude to them for their efforts and contributions to the construction and development of school, and informed them about the recent development and construction of the school. At the same time, the leaders listened carefully to their opinions and suggestions on the work of school.

School leaders said that every achievement of the school can not be separated from the efforts and dedication of all staff, and every breakthrough in the development of the school embodies the wisdom and painstaking efforts of the vast number of faculty and staff. The whole school should vigorously carry forward the fine tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education, create a comfortable environment for the vast number of teachers to study, work and live, build ladders and platforms for the growth and development of teachers, so that the majority of teachers have more sense of honor, happiness and gain in the work and life.

School leaders pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of CPC, the CPC central committee with comrade Xi Jinping as the core had attached great importance to the construction of teachers’ ranks ans regarded teachers as the foundation of establishing education and the source of fostering education, at the same time, higher requirements and expectations had been put forward for the mission of teachers’ ranks. All teachers should consciously carry forward the nobly moral, and persist in devoting themselves to strengthen moral education and cultivate people. Moreover, teachers should further strengthen the construction of teachers’ virtue, strive to be a good teachers with four disciplines---ideal and faith, moral sentiments, solid foundation knowledge,and heart of benevolence, to be a good guide with four disciplines---the teacher should be the guide of students’ tempering character, the guide of students’ learning knowledge, the guide of students’ innovative thinking and the guide of students’ dedication to the motherland, adhere to the “four unified” standards---the unification of teaching and educating people, the unification of words and deeds, the unification of asking with great concentration and focusing on society, the unification of academic freedom and academic norms, and truly learn to be an excellent teacher and act as exemplary person, at last to become good teachers whom the Party and the people are satisfied with.

School leaders stressed that currently school is in the key period of speeding up the construction of “Double First-class” and fully realizing the 13th five-year goal, the majority of teachers are the main force of school reform and a solid foundation for the school to achieve revitalization and development. The leaders hoped that the majority of teachers stayed true to the mission, loved their posts and devoted themselves to work. And the teachers should further enhance their sense of responsibility, unleash their creativity and highlight their new achievements, and make more and greater contributions to the construction of first-class universities in Confucius’ hometown.
