According to the latest basic science indicators database of ESI on November 16, the mathematics discipline of our university is ranked in the top 1% of ESI in the world., marking that the number of ESI top 1% disciplines of our school has been increased to 3. Before then, the engineering and chemistry disciplines of our school have been listed in the top 1% of ESI.
The mathematics discipline of our school was the first to select as the first-class discipline in Shandong Province in 2016, and is currently the only one among the first-class disciplines in Shandong Province. The statistics show that there are 252 universities and scientific research institutions in the world ranking in the top 1% of ESI. At the same time, our school ranks 208 in the international ranking mathematics disciplines, and has published a total of 835 ESI papers, with 4786 citations and 57 highly cited papers.
In recent years, our school has unswervingly implemented such connotation development strategies as everting the leading role of discipline construction, following the inherent laws of the development of disciplines and introducing a set of supporting measures. We have taken scientific and systematic steps in the construction of high-quality teachers, cultivation of talents, advancement of scientific research and internationalization of the development in disciplines. Universities and research institutions with total quantity of papers ranking in the world's top 1% can access to the ESI discipline ranking. ESI is one of the important evaluation indicators for evaluating the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries and regions. It is also an important reference for judging the development level of the disciplines around the world.
