April 24th, the first lecture of foreign culture lecture series on American culture was jointly held by QFNU Office of International Exchange & Cooperation and Student Affairs Office in order to make full use of the superior resources of foreign teachers, create a strong international atmosphere and build a platform for Sino-foreign exchanges. More than 200 students participated in the activity.
Four American experts working in our school and an American student from our sister school were invited as guests. To begin with, Dr. Daniel Olsen, from Lone Star College System, made an opening remark in a humorous and witty way. Then, the guests interacted with the compere in the form of discussion from their own experience, and gave an objective and distinctive analysis to the questions on American food culture, higher education, gun phenomenon and college life that most students were concerned about. During the question-and-answer portion, the students actively put up questions in English, fully demonstrating the students’enthusiasm to learn.
