QFNU Holds the First “Xingtan Forum for Teacher Education and Development ”

August 31,the first “Xingtan Forum for Teacher Education and Development” was held in Qufu. The forum was guided by Department of Teacher Education, Ministry of Education, sponsored by China Teachers Development Foundation & Shandong Provincial Education Department, hosted by China Teachers Museum and College of Education, Qufu Normal University. Mr. Liu Jiantong, Inspector of Department of Teacher Education, Ministry of Education, Mr. Wang Jianguang, Secretary General of China Teachers Development Foundation, Mr. Qi Wanxue, Secretary of the Party Committee of QFNU, Mr. Liu Baojun, Director of Teachers’ Office, Shandong Provincial Education Department attended the forum. The opening ceremony of this forum was presided over by Hu Qingxue, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of QFNU.

Experts and scholars from home and abroad were invited to have dialogue and consultation in each round of talks in the form of keynote speakers’ presentation and guest speakers’ comment during the first “Xingtan Forum for Teacher Education and Development”. The forum focused not only on domestic experience but also on international exploration, providing a comparative study of Chinese and foreign theories and practices of teacher education.                                                                                                                              

The first session focused on the theme of “the way to revitalize teacher education: local experience and international exploration”, the second session focused on the theme of “the way of teacher professional development: traditional thoughts and cutting-edge ideas”, and the third session focused on the theme of “ the way of teachers’ teaching and educating: inheriting teachers’ virtue and strengthening moral education.”

“What are the main difficulties in the construction of modern teacher education system?” “What are the aspects for China and the United States to learn from each other in teacher education?” “What is the trend and development of educational theory in the information age?” With these hot issues raised, the first “Xingtan Forum for Teacher Education and Development” built a platform for sharing ideas, inspiring thinking and wisdom.

After the forum, leaders, guests and representatives of teachers and students watched the brilliant performance about the teacher education achievements made by QFNU students.
