Recent Rankings of QFNU at Home and abroad on the Rise Again

Recently, the USNews 2020 World University Rankings and 2019 Chinese Best Subject Ranking have been released one after another. Our university's ranking on the two lists has achieved a new climb, which indicates that the competitiveness of core school indicators such as discipline construction and scientific research has steadily increased. The teachers and students of our university, alumni, and friends from all fields of society praised.

On October 22, USNews released the 2020 World University Rankings. A total of 223 universities in China were shortlisted. Our university ranked 86th in mainland China's universities and ranked 2nd among universities in Shandong Province.

The USNews World University Rankings is recognized as one of the four authoritative world university rankings. The 2020 USNews World University Rankings covers the top 1500 institutions in 81 countries. The USNews ranking does not consider the school's undergraduate or graduate education alone, but rather ranks based on 13 indicators that measure the school's overall academic research performance and its global and regional reputation. The main indicators of this year’ s USNews World University Rankings are as follows: 12.5% of global research reputation, 12.5% of regional research reputation, 10% of published papers, 2.5% of published books, 2.5% of academic conferences, and standardized citation impact accounted for 10%, total citations accounted for 7.5%, the number of high-frequency citations (in the top 10% of the most cited documents) accounted for 12.5%, and the percentage of high-frequency citations (in the top 10% of most cited documents) accounted for 10%, international cooperation accounted for 10%, the number of high-frequency citations (in the top 1% of the most cited in their field) accounted for 5% and the percentage of high-frequency citations (in the top 1% of the most cited in their field) accounted for 5%.

On October 30, the ARWU officially released the 2019 China's Best Discipline Ranking. 18 disciplines of our university are on the list, which is 3 more disciplines than in 2018.

The 2019 Chinese Best Subject Ranking released by ARWU includes 96 first-level disciplines, with a total of 4,986 disciplines from 460 universities. The ranking of each subject is for all universities with academic postgraduate degree authorization points in the first-level disciplines, and the top 50% of universities ranked in this subject are released.

Our 18 subjects include: pedagogy (top 11%), Marxist theory (top 16%), Physical Education (top 17%), Mathematics (top 18%), Control Science and Engineering (top 23%), Chinese Language and Literature (top 29%), Statistics (top 30%), Music and Dance (top 32%), Philosophy (top 34%), Chinese History (top 36%), Physics (top 37%), Computer Science and Technology (top 39%), Psychology (top 40%), Chemistry (top 41%), Information and Communication Engineering (top 46%), Fine Arts (top 46%), Foreign Languages and Literature (top 47%) ), Drama and Film Science (top 47%), etc.

Since the Eighth Party Congress, our university has clearly defined the goal of reviving Quyuan's glory. Our school seizes opportunities, overcomes difficulties, implements the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" in depth, accelerates the "double first-class" construction, and focuses on core development indicators such as talent training, discipline construction, scientific research, and teacher construction. We made up for shortcomings, strengthened our advantages, and added features, and achieved a series of new breakthroughs and new leaps. Since the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the university has reached 27 scientific research platforms above the provincial level, has undertaken more than 200 national-level projects and nearly 400 provincial-level and ministerial-level projects, has received research funding of 140 million yuan, 2 national science awards, 1 award for outstanding scientific research by the Ministry of Education, and 11 awards for Science and Technology in Shandong Province, published nearly 3000 SCI journal papers, of which nearly 500 were in Top Journals, and the university's natural index jumped sharply, from 1.21 in 2015 to 2018 12.66. According to the Natural Index 2018 Rising Star Statistics, Qufu Normal University is ranked as a "highly appealing university" with Southeast University, Hunan University, and Fudan University, because the research quality of these four universities has never been improved. In 2019, our university has 3 disciplines in the top 1% of ESI; the total number of post-doctoral scientific research mobile stations has reached 11; the number of first-class disciplines in Shandong Province has increased to 6, and the total number of project constructions ranks second in Shandong universities; 19 majors are recommended to participate in the national first-class undergraduate professional construction review, and the two majors, mathematics and applied mathematics, and chemistry, participate in the second-level certification of the normal university teachers' specialty in the Ministry of Education; The National Social Science Fund (Education) project ranked first in Shandong universities for five consecutive years, and won the first prize of Shandong Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award for ten consecutive years. The number of first prizes in the past two years ranked first among provincial universities.
