According to the relevant documents issued by Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Shandong Provincial Government, a total of 50 organizations in the province have been honored with the “Innovation Award” in 2020, and QFNU is the only university to win this award. This is also the second year in a row that Qufu Normal University has won the award after the Chinese Teachers Museum won it in 2019.

As a university located in the hometown of Confucius, Qufu Normal University unswervingly adheres to the role of teacher education. It is the only university in Shandong Province that has both the first-level discipline authorization of education doctorate and the authorization of education doctorate professional degree. The education major was rated as the first batch of first-class undergraduate majors in China. Qufu Normal University has taken the lead in forming a teacher education and training system that integrates undergraduate, master and PHD’s education. In 2020, the education discipline of Qufu Normal University won 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes of the Humanities and Social Sciences Award of the Ministry of Education (ranking the first in Shandong Province and the 11th in China). It was successfully selected as the "Top Discipline in Shandong Province" and ranked in the top 10% of the "China's Best Discipline Rankings" for three consecutive years. The number of approved National Social Science Funds it has accepted in the past five years ranked first in Shandong universities.

This will further encourage the high-quality development of QFNU's education discipline construction, academic innovation, talent training and social services. We will make greater contributions to accelerating the construction of a high-level university in Confucius' hometown.
