On the eve of the 120th anniversary of the founding of Shandong University, Qi Wanxue, Secretary of the Party committee of Qufu Normal University, and his party went to Shandong University to present archives during the period of cooperation in running schools between the two universities. Liu Jianya, Vice President of Shandong University, attended the donation ceremony and issued the donation certificate.

The donated archives were provided by the archives of Qufu Normal University, with a total of 9 volumes and 897 pages (including digital version), including the list of students of Shandong University during its school running in Qufu, information of party congress, youth league congress and sports meeting. The donated archives were an important historical mark of the friendly exchanges between the two universities, fill the gap in the archives work of Shandong University, and provide valuable materials for Shandong University to improve the study of school history.

Shandong University sent a special letter to Qufu Normal University to express his thanks for this, pointing out that Qufu Normal University and Shandong University are connected in context and have deep roots. The two universities left many good stories of teachers and students that have been recited so far, which has achieved the common unforgettable memory of the two universities. Shandong University's closeness and attention to Qufu Normal University has never changed and has been strengthened for a long time. Facing the new era, Shandong University is willing to work with Qufu Normal University to answer the topics of the times and continue its deep friendship.

It is reported that Shandong University was divided into three parts in June 1970. Science majors, mathematics, physics, chemistry, radio electronics, etc. were transformed into Shandong University of Science and Technology; Biology merged into Shandong Agricultural University; Liberal arts majors merged with Qufu Normal University. In September of that year, all liberal arts departments of the University moved to Qufu to establish a new Shandong University. Shandong University has been in Qufu for three years. In November 1973, with approval, Shandong University was restored, moved out of Qufu and returned to Jinan. In March 1974, Shandong University was separated from the former Qufu Normal University. All the students moved to Jinan and resumed their studies in the restored Shandong University.
