Recently, the Chinese Classics Reading Competition for Foreign Students in Colleges and Universities in Shandong Province, hosted by the Department of Education of Shandong Province, organized by the Office of Language and Writing Committee of Shandong Province and Shandong Education Television station, was held in Jinan. After the primary selection of video works, 25 foreign students from more than 10 universities in the province were shortlisted for the on-site finals. Finally, Lydia, a Kenyan undergraduate student from Qufu Normal University, stood out among all the contestants, ranked third, won the first prize, and Gao Min, the instructor, won the "excellent instructor" award.

The content of the competition is divided into four links: self style display, Chinese classic reading display, Chinese poetry knowledge Q & A and keynote speech. Foreign students display their Chinese culture and Chinese stories to the world in their own way.

Lydia, a contestant from Qufu Normal University, is naturally generous, calm and resourceful, showing her high level of Chinese and her love for Chinese culture. During the self style display, Lydia expressed her beautiful feelings that Confucius' hometown is also her second hometown. The question and answer session of Chinese poetry knowledge investigated the contestants' poetry sentence connection, filling in the blanks with poetry knowledge, poetry thought interpretation and so on. Lydia perfectly demonstrated the good quality of Chinese poetry, achieved full marks and successfully advanced to the finals.

In the final keynote speech, Lydia told her story, told the love from QFNU for the study and life of foreign students during the epidemic, and expressed her good wish to build a friendship bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Kenya. Especially when talking about the feelings of family and country in Chinese poetry, Lydia recited classic poems in a clear, fluent and emotional way , which explained that it was precisely because of this spirit that countless people made the epidemic prevention and control successful. The speech was highly praised by the judges.
