Recently, the Publicity Department of Shandong Province announced the list of the first batch of key research bases of social science theory in Shandong Province, with a total of 39 bases selected. The Confucianism Research Base and Virtue Shandong Construction Research Base declared by QFNU stand out from 138 declared bases, and the number of selected units ranks in the forefront of all units in the province.

"Virtue Shandong Construction Research Base" takes Professor Qi Wanxue as the leader and relies on the "Confucian Ethics and Better Life Research Center" to integrate the strength of pedagogy, physical education, Marxism and other disciplines. The base focuses on the major theoretical issue of virtue and a better life in the new era, responds to the practical needs of people in pursuit of a better life, and is committed to exploring the virtue of Shandong in the new era and advocating a new healthy lifestyle of virtue. With Professor Guo Yi as the leader, the "Confucianism Research Base" integrates the strength of philosophy, history, foreign languages, art and other disciplines. Based on the profound accumulation of Confucianism research, the base deeply elucidates the essence of Confucianism, comprehensively promotes the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and strives to build an international communication platform for Confucian civilization and Chinese culture.

"Confucianism Research Base" and "Virtue Shandong Construction Research Base" closely connect with the major cultural strategic needs of China and Shandong Province, and fully demonstrate the mission of our traditional advantageous and characteristic disciplines. After completion, it will form a strong radiation driving role for the high-quality development of a large number of Humanities in QFNU, and also lay a solid foundation for QFNU to break through the "big platform, big team, big project and big achievement" during the 14th Five Year Plan period.

"Key research base of social science theory in Shandong Province" is integrated, adjusted and established on the basis of the original "key research base of theoretical construction project in Shandong Province" and "key research base of social science planning in Shandong Province". The purpose is to further integrate the theoretical research resources of Social Science in Shandong Province, promote the prosperity and development of theoretical work and philosophy and Social Sciences in Shandong Province, and give full play to the strength of Social Science in Shandong Province in theoretical research, decision-making consultation and publicity and education. It will better serve the construction of a strong modern province in the new era.
