From March 25th to 26th, the final of the 13th National College Student Mathematics Competition was held at East China Normal University, with 732 students from universities such as Peking University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, and Nanjing University competing on the same stage. Four students from Qufu Normal University answered calmly and conscientiously, demonstrating a solid mathematical foundation and excellent mathematical literacy, and achieved excellent results. Among them, Liu Chenhui, a student from the 2019 School of Mathematical Sciences, won the first prize in the Mathematics major (senior group) with outstanding results, ranking tenth in China and first in Shandong. Song Yunze and Chen Chufeng, students from the 2018 School of Mathematical Sciences, won the third prize in the Mathematics major (senior group). Zhang Jiankun, a student from the 2019 School of Statistics and Data Sciences, won the third prize in the non mathematics group. This award marks the 7th time that students of QFNU have won the first prize in the National College Mathematics Competition, demonstrating the solid results of high-quality talent cultivation and polishing the bright business card of the school's top talent cultivation in basic disciplines.

The National College Student Mathematics Competition began in 2009 and has become one of the most influential high-level subject competitions for undergraduate students. The competition consists of preliminary and final rounds. The preliminary round of the 13th National College Student Mathematics Competition was held in November 2021, with 218823 participants registering and 732 participants entering the finals. Among them, 382 were from the mathematics major group and 350 were from the non mathematics major group. Due to the pandemic, the final has been postponed to this year.

In recent years, QFNU adheres to the policy of "promoting practice and learning through competition", attaches great importance to the connotation construction of the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction point of mathematics and applied mathematics and the teaching of mathematics public courses in the whole school, innovatively constructs a top-notch talent training system for basic disciplines, comprehensively improves the quality of talent training, stimulates students' interest in learning mathematics, and cultivates first-class innovative talents.
